How to train a Rosalina & Luma amiibo in Super Smash Bros. 4

A complete summary of Rosalina & Luma’s performance in Super Smash Bros. 4 can be found on the character’s information page. It includes strengths and weaknesses, AI quirks, and an archive of tournament representation and results.

Stats & Bonus Effects

Rosalina & Luma’s best equipment setup heavily invests into Attack and Defense (+120 Attack / +200 Defense / -200 Speed) at the cost of Speed. In terms of bonus effects, Auto-heal capability, Lifesteal, and Improved escapability are essential.

Rosalina & Luma benefit from the Luma Warp custom move. Rather than charging Luma to attack, Rosalina will warp it a set distance away. This increases the speed of the character’s attacks and allows its spacing to be more consistent.

Recommended Training

An amiibo becomes strongest if it is mirror matched all the way to Level 50. This is done to teach the AI which moves to rely on; after reaching Level 50, it will use this training as a base and expand upon it with matchup experience. While training your amiibo, do not play aggressively or go off-stage; instead, remain grounded and keep the following moves in mind:

  • Neutral options: jab, forward tilt, and down tilt: All three of these moves come out quick, and with Luma’s help, function well as keep-away attacks. The recommended Attack investment helps Rosalina & Luma to rack up a large amount of damage while simultaneously recovering health with the Auto-heal capability and Lifesteal bonuses.
  • Main KO moves: forward smash, up smash, and down smash. Rosalina & Luma’s smash attacks have minimal startup, and inflict major damage if each of their hits connect. Forward smash is great at edgeguarding when aimed downward, and can prematurely end stocks against unwary opponents. Her up special serves as a great aerial punish, while her down smash can be used out of shield.
  • Moves to avoid: side special (Star Bits). Star Bits are weak and situational, and should not be used during training. You don’t want to mess up Rosalina & Luma’s consistency with other moves, so do not prioritize Star Bits at all.
