Amiibo Character Exhibition: Speed Demon

The following is an archived post from the Amiibo Dojo. It has been uploaded to the Exion Vault for referential purposes and retains its original publication date; some of the post’s links may not function currently or exist at all.

Hey guys! I’m here to tell you about an upcoming amiibo tournament you might want to enter. I might not be hosting it, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth entering – this tourney is all about speed: so much so, that your amiibo must have 200 points in it! Click the “Continue Reading” button to read more!

The Rules

As far as the match type goes, this tourney is pretty standard. Double elimination, 2-stock, 6 minutes, best 2 out of 3 games. There are some more…interesting rules, however – hence the theme around speed, your amiibo must have at least 200 point speed, and must be equipped with Improved trade-off speed AND Skating traction. This leaves the third bonus slot open to your choice – just make sure you don’t give your amiibo Explosive perfect shield, as it is banned in this tourney.

All matches will take place on non-omega Green Hill Zone. The tourney date is August 28th, 2016, and you have until 11:59PM EST the day before to submit your amiibo. Don’t forget, there are prizes here: the winner will receive Pokémon Trading Card Online codes.

If your amiibo’s stats and bonuses need to be changed, you can send it in early and the tournament operator will change its setup according to your request. Just send an email to unoriginalemail@yahoo.com with your bonus change request.

How to enter the tournament

If you’re new here, you may be wondering how to enter the tourney if Nintendo hasn’t allowed amiibo to be used online. Well, here’s the deal: you will need either an Amiibo Powersaves or an NFC-compatible Android device in order to enter. In the case of the former, you’d hook the Powersaves hardware up to your PC, place your amiibo on top of it, and create a BACKUP. Then, look in your Users folder, click your username, then Powersaves for AMIIBO. You’ll find a .BIN file of the amiibo you saved a backup of – just send that .BIN file to unoriginalemail@yahoo.com and you’ll be good to go. If you don’t have an Amiibo Powersaves, but do have an NFC-compatible Android, check out this handy video guide by Amiibo Dan. It’s a bit old, but should still work just fine.

Conclusion

I hope you all take the time to enter this unique tournament! If you have any questions regarding the rules of this tournament, entering your amiibo, or just training your amiibo in general, you can fill out the contact form or shoot me an email at amiibocloud@gmail.com! Best of luck to everyone!
