Pokémon Legends: Arceus marks several new milestones for the Pokémon series, but one new milestone that longtime fans might enjoy is that the Mythical Pokémon Darkrai is available in-game without events! This is the first time Darkrai has been available without a time limit, though there is one catch: you’ll need save data for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl present on your Switch console.
Darkrai Location
It’s important to note that Darkrai cannot be unlocked until after you beat the game. Once you do accomplish this feat, however, go to Professor Laventon’s office at Galaxy Hall. Check the billboard, and you’ll be able to take on Request #93: The Darksome Nightmare. From there, travel to Coronet Highlands and make your way to the plateau southeast of Clamberclaw Cliffs (but northwest of the Lonely Spring). Darkrai will appear, and you’ll have no choice but to engage in battle.
It’s going to send out attacks and teleport all over the place at first, preventing you from sending out a Pokémon of your own. To remedy this, wait until it appears and then throw any item at its shield to temporarily daze it. Send out your Pokémon as soon as possible and you’ll finally be able to fight it with your party. We recommend bringing a Pokémon with Thunder Wave such as Luxray or Hisuian Electrode. To review, then: dodge all its attacks and throw things at it until you can send out your Pokémon. It might be frustrating at first, but keep at it!
