How to spawn Space-Time Distortions in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

How do you spawn space-time distortions in Pokémon Legends: Arceus? The easiest answer: patience. Indeed, space-time distortions are random chance events that can happen anywhere in Hisui except for Jubilife Village and the Ancient Retreat. They spawn several helpful items and exclusive Pokémon, including a chance of summoning Starter Pokémon for you to catch. We’ve got all the details here, so let’s get started!

Space-Time Distortion Information

At the time of writing, the best way to spawn a Space-Time Distortion is to wait around. Before you start farming these distortions, though, you need to know which Pokémon are exclusive to what areas. Porygon, Cyndaquil, Quilava, and Typhlosion can only be found in the Crimson Mirelands, for example. Magnemite and Magneton are exclusive to the Cobalt Coastlands, while Oshawott, Dewott, and Samurott can only be found in the Alabaster Highlands. Finally, you can only catch Cranidos, Rampardos, Shieldon, Bastiodon, Rowlet, Dartrix, and Decidueye in the Coronet Highlands. With that in mind, head over to a region with a Pokémon selection that interests you.

From there, we recommend finding a safe place to stand somewhere in the middle of the map. According to research from Anubis, space-time distortions can only happen after 5, 10, 15, 25, or 40 minutes spent roaming about — and that timer stops during battles. Which means you’ll just want to stand around and wait. The timer resets if you enter a different zone, which would mean something like entering Wayward Cave in the Coronet Highlands. If you wait 40 minutes without a distortion, one is guaranteed when that time has elapsed. When you see the notice that a Space-Time Distortion is forming, head on over and be sure to keep moving until it appears for real.

Once inside, lightning will strike and zap an assortment of items onto the ground. Ride on Wyrdeer and pick them all up while looking around for Pokémon you want. If the Pokémon that appeared aren’t ones you want, run away from them and they’ll eventually despawn. Space-Time Distortions only last a short time, so make sure you look at as many Pokémon as possible! It’s important to note that this is the only way to obtain the Starter Pokémon in their Shiny forms in this game (other than massive mass outbreaks, which are much easier).
