How to catch Heatran in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Heatran is one of many Legendary Pokémon present in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. It’s one of the more underrated Legendaries, and it’s only available to players who have beaten the game and watched the credits. Afterward, you can meet Volo in the Obsidian Fieldlands to take on Mission #22: The Plate of Firespit Island. Please note that you must catch Heatran before you can catch Regigigas!

Heatran Location

After accepting Volo’s mission, head to Firespit Island of the Cobalt Coastlands. From there, encountering Heatran is incredibly simple: enter the cave leading into the volcano, and it will be standing right there. When you engage it in battle, it will shield itself with a fiery swirl. This prevents you from throwing your Pokémon at it to start a battle. Instead, pick up one of the mud balls around the room and toss it at Heatran’s shield. While it’s stunned, send out one of your Pokémon to start the battle!

Heatran appears at Level 70, and it’s a Fire / Steel-type. This means it takes quadrupled damage from Ground-type attacks. That being said, you’re looking to catch Heatran, not defeat it. If for some reason you do accidentally defeat it, you’ll be given the chance to capture it again. When you manage to capture it, you’ll be given the Iron Plate — which means you can now battle Regigigas! For more information on how to catch Regigigas, please see here.
