Pokémon Legends: Arceus is unique in that it lets players capture all four Sinnoh Mythical Pokémon. Manaphy is one of them! Trainers can obtain it via Request #66: The Sea’s Legend, though the setup from there is just a little bit complicated. We’ve got a complete guide right here to help you catch Manaphy and Phione in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, so let’s get right into it!
Manaphy Location
Remember, you’ll need to have accepted Request #66: The Sea’s Legend before you can catch Manaphy. After making it through a large portion of the game’s story, this request will appear on the chalkboard in Professor Laventon’s room (which, in turn, is located in Galaxy Hall). The first step is to accept this request!
From there, you’ll need to capture three specific Pokémon: Overqwil, Mantyke, and Buizel. Overqwil is certainly the most difficult of the three; it can’t be caught in the wild. Instead, you’ll need to catch a Hisuian Qwilfish from Tranquility Cove in the Cobalt Coastlands. Afterward, you’ll need to have it use Strong Style Barb Barrage twenty times. It’ll be eligible to evolve once you’ve done this. Buizel can be caught near Windswept Run in the Obsidian Fieldlands, while Mantyke can be found in Tranquility Cove as well.
With Overqwil, Mantyke, and Buizel in your party, head to Cobalt Coastlands and look for the rock formation seen above. It’s northeast of Sand’s Reach — the beach that looks like a hand. Pass between the two rocks during the evening, and the Seaside Hollow will open up. That’s located just north of the “Veilstone Cape” text on the map. Enter the cave and you’ll find a Level 50 Manaphy waiting to be caught! It brings three Phione with it as well, though they are of a considerably lower level.
As always, make sure you save your game before you encounter Manaphy and Phione. These Pokémon are Shiny-locked, which means they cannot be Shiny no matter how many times you reset for them. Keep that in mind! If you have any further questions, feel free to join our Discord community. We’d be happy to help you out. Happy hunting, and good luck catching Manaphy!
