Welcome to the competitive amiibo training community’s official tier list for the Spirits format! The placements you see here are all based on tournament data from the Spirit Amiibo Matchups server — in other words, this is their list being reposted here. You’re always welcome to join their server and enter tournaments to help provide more accurate data, too! Exion also hosts a vanilla tier list and a Raid Boss tier list, if either of those interest you.
In amiibo tournaments that allow Spirits, the Incineroar and Kazuya Figure Players have been determined to be too strong — which means they’re banned from most competitive tours. That being said, Kazuya’s recent drop to S tier isn’t because he’s weaker; it’s so that we can obtain information on his character matchups in tournaments. This tier list assumes that Autoheal, Great Autoheal, Armor Knight, Slow Super Armor, Super Armor, and Critical Healing & Metal are all banned.
Tier List Details & Explanation
New or casual trainers might try to deny the existence of tiers in competitive amiibo training, arguing that each FP is on par with the rest. However, tournament results have proven that this simply isn’t true. Each character has a different moveset and AI, and some of these are inherently stronger or weaker than others. Certain fighters – specifically, ones in low tiers – are also plagued with AI flaws that may get cause them to self-destruct or be easily KO’d in competitive matches (for example, Bayonetta sometimes fails to properly utilize her recovery).
