Full list of amiibo rewards in Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is out tomorrow, and we’re here with a full list of amiibo compatibility and rewards ahead of time! In case you aren’t already aware, the Kirby series Kirby, King Dedede, and Meta Knight amiibo figures were reprinted for Forgotten Land’s launch period. That’s because they all have special functions in this game! We’ll be detailing all of this and more, as well as what non-Kirby amiibo figures can do for you. Let’s begin!

Star Coins, Stat Boosts, and More

Just like in previous Kirby titles, the “scan amiibo” option only appears in the pause menu. You can use up to five figurines per level, and that counter is reset when you clear the stage. Forgotten Land’s amiibo rewards are much better than the ones found in Star Allies, but still aren’t quite as in-depth as they were in Planet Robobot. Here’s what each Kirby series amiibo gets you:

  • Kirby pops a Life-Up container into your inventory and produces a bunch of Star Coins. Hold the X button to activate the Life-Up container in a pinch! Do note that both the Smash and Kirby edition amiibo figures have the exact same functions in this game.
  • King Dedede produces an Attack-Up container, which makes taking down bosses much easier. Just like Kirby, he also spawns a few Star Coins for you to collect.
  • Meta Knight pops a Speed-Up container into your inventory, which is helpful for running through levels as fast as you can! That extra speed makes it easier to dodge certain boss attacks, too. As usual, some Star Coins will spawn around you as well.
  • Waddle Dee is indeed a Kirby series amiibo, but it has no special function — it just spawns a regular food item and a minuscule number of Star Coins. In fact, every amiibo figure not mentioned here serves this exact purpose in-game.

As mentioned, the Super Smash Bros. series Kirby amiibo behave exactly the same as their Kirby series counterparts.
