All World 5 Missions in Kirby and the Forgotten Land

There are a lot of Waddle Dees to collect in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. So many, in fact, that we’re back with a fifth post on how to find them all. This time, we’re covering World 5: Originull Wasteland. There are a total of 49 Waddle Dees to collect here, and their locations are trickier than they’ve been in previous worlds. As always, there are light spoilers afoot, so do keep that in mind before you continue.

Level 1: The Wastes Where Life Began (9)

This level is a bit tricky, because the first section is a wide-open space. It’s easy to miss some of the collectibles here, so keep a sharp eye out! We’ve got a list of objectives for you. They are as follows:

  1. Clear the stage.
  2. Save the hidden Waddle Dees:
    • Collect all five green star pieces. You will need Ring Mouth to find them all — some are stuck under piles of dirt. Others require you to press green buttons and activate fans. Nothing too tough here, you shouldn’t have any trouble finding the star pieces!
    • In the second area with the linear path, use Ring Mouth to blow a nearby pillar into a crack on the ground. The Waddle Dee is inside.
    • There is a second pillar in this area that you can blow down with Ring Mouth. Do so and enter the door that appears in the ground. Complete the challenge to save the Waddle Dee.
  3. Shoot 3 flying targets:
    • One is to the very right of the first area near a pool of purple goo.
    • One is on top of a brown box wedged in the ground. This box is to the left of the star button near the purple goo mentioned above.
    • Near a blinking arrow sign behind a falling construction pillar.
  4. Defeat the lost Squishy. All the way to the left of the first area, south of some purple goo and some fans, there is a Squishy standing on a brown box. Defeat it to complete this mission.
  5. Defeat Fleurina using Ring Mouth.

Level 2: Searching the Oasis (11)

This stage is a big oasis, as you might have guessed! If at any point you have to redo a level to finish a mission you missed, try using a Meta Knight amiibo to increase your run speed. This will make consecutive playthroughs much faster. Here are your objectives:

  1. Clear the stage.
  2. Save the hidden Waddle Dees:
    • Behind a snake enemy in the oasis area is a path filled with grass. Go through to find the Waddle Dee above the pool.
    • Take the Warp Star from the oasis. In this new area, continue onward until you find a huge sludge monster and a ladder. Climb it, cross the platforms, and save the Waddle Dee.
    • In the area with the Pipe Mouth obstacle course, do a big jump at the end and smash the wall to reveal the Waddle Dee.
    • Use the Drill ability to go under the gate in the water pump area. Dig all the spots to get the green star pieces to save the Waddle Dee.
    • Behind the second Poison Croakum (sludge monster) you see.
  3. Take a nap by the secret pool. After you collect Waddle Dee #1, grab the Sleep ability from Noddy and take a nap near the pool. You don’t have to be sitting on the chair for this to work.
  4. Defeat 2 Poison Croakums. You can do this with the nearby water pump. There is a gate near the pump that you can dig under to raise the platform and defeat the second one.
  5. Diligent digging in the secret room. Dig up all the dirt spots in the room with the green star pieces for Waddle Dee #4.

Level 3: Alivel Mall (Staff Side) (11)

Looks like you’re making a return trip to Alivel Mall! This time around, it’s even more ruined than before. Plus, it’s got a hint of a haunted theme to it. There are eleven Waddle Dees to find here, and this is where you can find them all:

  1. Clear the stage.
  2. Save the hidden Waddle Dees:
    • After you get Ring Mouth from a bomb block, go back to the staff side and step on the Pac-Man-shaped platform. Go into the hole to reveal this Waddle Dee.
    • In the area after Ring Mouth, cut down a big rope at the east end with Sword or Cutter. Go down, get the vending machine, and go to the blue portal. Cross the spikes and enter the hole.
    • After the vending machine area, you will hear the cries of a Waddle Dee. Enter an alcove near a snowman enemy and defeat Wild Bonkers.
    • You will still hear a Waddle Dee after leaving the area with Wild Bonkers. Go to the bright side and destroy the cardboard boxes. Hammer the stop and eat the clock to become Ring Mouth. Blow away the nearby dirt to find this Waddle Dee.
    • In the area with the rotating plus sign platforms, insert Ring Mouth Kirby into the hole on the wall. Become water balloon Kirby afterward and insert him into the hole on the floor.
  3. Taste test 3 kinds of ice cream:
    • One is near a cone after you exit the staff side with the ghosts early on in the level.
    • In the room behind the clock after the alcove that leads to the Wild Bonkers room in the corner.
    • In the area with the rotating plus platforms, inside a box near the cone. It’s a fudge popsicle that you can eat.
  4. Defeat Wild Bonkers with the Cutter ability.
  5. Fit through all holes using Mouthful Modes. If you collect all the Waddle Dees, you’ll only be missing one hole that’s near the first ice cream cone. Don’t miss it!

Level 4: Moonlight Canyon (11)

This level starts out dark and gloomy, but becomes pretty! This is one of those levels that makes you think about how nice this game’s graphics look.

  1. Clear the stage.
  2. Save the hidden Waddle Dees:
    • Behind a cannon in the first dark area is a path. Take it and light up the solar panel.
    • In the area with the falling pillars, there is a solar panel off to the left. Light it up.
    • Near the third wanted poster (see below) on top of some falling blocks.
    • Climb some falling blocks after obtaining the previous Waddle Dee to find a scissor lift. Eat it, activate the switch, and enter the door. Complete the challenge and ditch the scissor lift before it falls.
    • In the gliding section there is a huge falling pillar with two holes. Go into the one on the right.
  3. Remove 3 wanted posters:
    • At the end of the first area right before the door, on the left wall.
    • Right near Waddle Dee #2 in a path to the left. Ditch the light bulb for a moment and attack the poster.
    • When you leave the dark area, climb up some ladders. You will see a ladder leading down and a cannon off to the right. Hover above the cannon to find the poster on a cliff above it.
  4. Clear the secret room without falling. This is referring to the room where you find Waddle Dee #4.
  5. Find the treasure hiding by cactus triplets. They’re right by the golden Waddle Dee cage; walk near them to spawn a treasure chest.

Level 5: Collector in the Sleepless Valley (7)

This boss fight is against a new character, a member of the Beast Pack named Sillydillo. He rolls around to attack, and later on in the fight he dances with a doll to double the area his attacks will hit. If you have the Hammer ability and beat him with it, you will complete two missions automatically.

  1. Clear the stage.
  2. Hit 3 of Sillydillo’s handmade Kirbys. They are hanging from strings around the battlefield.
  3. Defeat Sillydillo with the Hammer ability.
  4. Clear within 2 minutes.
  5. Clear without taking any damage.

One skill that will help you clear Sillydillo without taking damage is dodging. You can press the R button and a direction to dodge away from him as he rolls at you. One mission does require that you use the Hammer ability, but it might be easier to bring something like Ranger on a consecutive playthrough.
