How to 100% complete Kirby’s Dream Buffet

Oh yeah, this game exists! Indeed, since its launch in August 2022, Kirby’s Dream Buffet has kind of fallen off. There’s not a lot of content in the game, but it’ll still take you quite a while to 100% complete it thanks to its heavy emphasis on grinding. In this day and age, it’s difficult to find people to play with online — but in the context of 100% completion, this is actually a good thing! We’ll explain why and more in today’s guide.

100% Required

Unlike other recent entries in the Kirby series, Kirby’s Dream Buffet doesn’t quite track 100% completion. Still, there are only two tasks you need to complete to fully finish this game, and you’ll definitely know when you’ve finished them. Get ready for lots of grinding, because these challenges take a long time!

  • Max out your Gourmet Rank. It maxes out at the oddly-specific number of 135, and the only way to increase it is to play rounds of the game over and over again. If you play online, there’s a 1.80x Gourmet Point bonus that’ll help you level up faster. This bonus applies even if you don’t match with any other real people, so make sure you play online as frequently as possible — CPUs are generally much easier to win against.
  • Collect every Character Treat. There are a total of 256 Character Treats to collect, and you’re automatically awarded some at the end of each round. To be honest, you’ll almost certainly be done with this task by the time you reach Gourmet Rank 135.

By the time you complete both of these challenges, you’ll also have unlocked all of the game’s costumes, colors, and music. That means you’ve achieved 100% completion! We normally have a 100% optional section for tasks that could count as completion, but collecting Character Treats and increasing your Gourmet Rank are literally the only things to do in this game. In other words, everything’s required!

As someone who’s personally 100% completed this game, let me just say it’s definitely not worth it. It’s a whole lot of grinding for a whole lot of nothing, but it is a decent challenge to work toward in the background while you watch TV or something.
