Falco is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. 4 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The Super Smash Bros. series Falco amiibo was released on November 30, 2015 as part of Wave 7.
In Super Smash Bros. 4
Falco is currently a B-tier character in Super Smash Bros. 4. Compared to Fox, Falco is a direct upgrade on nearly all fronts, as he has a stronger skill set and smarter AI. His smash attacks are powerful and have decent range, with his forward and up smashes serving as particularly deadly kill options. Falco’s recovery is also better than Fox’s; his jumps are higher and his up special travels farther. Falco also boasts a solid set of tilts and a useful infinite jab that helps rack up damage fast.
Unfortunately, Falco is not without flaws; his AI, while undeniably stronger than Fox’s, has its own glaring issues. It may overuse its neutral special, side special, and (especially) its forward aerial and try them at inappropriate times. Falco is also a lightweight character, meaning his in-game durability is rather lacking.
Falco has achieved decent tournament results and representation. Though he is considered the best Star Fox representative in Smash 4, trainers often spent more time with Fox instead; thus, his full potential has not yet been fully realized and likely never will be.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Falco was significantly buffed for his appearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. His walk speed, run speed, and air speed have all been noticeably increased, while his aerials and special moves are much stronger. These changes help Falco to better contend against top-tier fighters like Bowser.
However, Falco has seen several nerfs as well. His infinite jab, forward tilt, and up tilt deal less damage and his down smash has increased startup lag. Falco Phantasm’s distance has been shortened, worsening his recovery and making him slightly more vulnerable to being gimped.
Overall, Falco is very much on par with his Smash 4 iteration. His tournament representation and results have been somewhat lacking, as trainers are either raising Fox or Wolf as their Star Fox representative.
