Snake is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The Super Smash Bros. series Snake amiibo was released on September 20, 2019 as part of Wave 15.
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Snake is a heavyweight projectile-heavy fighter with a solid grab game and recovery. One of his most interesting options is his Remote Missile; just like Ness’s PK Thunder, Remote Missile is difficult to dodge and can intercept opponents’ recoveries. Snake also has access to an incredible up tilt; despite its high speed, the move packs amazing KO power and is one of his best options.
However, Snake also suffers from a few flaws. The AI is often hit by its own Grenades and C4; similarly to Link and his Remote Bombs, Snake will detonate his C4 even if he is caught in its radius. Snake’s most powerful move – his forward smash – is also immensely laggy; if the AI slips up and uses it by accident, the opponent will have ample time to strike.
Given that Snake was released rather recently, he has not accrued enough tournament results for a conclusion to be drawn. At present, the community believes him to be fairly strong but weak against characters who are comfortable off-stage.
