Release date given for Min Min amiibo, Steve delayed

After missing February’s Nintendo Direct, Min Min’s amiibo figure has finally been slated for an April 29 release date. According to a recent tweet from Nintendo, it will indeed be releasing alongside Nintendo Switch Sports! Unfortunately, Steve won’t be arriving alongside her. Both the Steve and Alex amiibo figures have been delayed until late 2022, and no official date has been given. As we’ve mentioned here before, we were able to access training data for the Min Min, Steve, Sephiroth, Pyra / Mythra, and Kazuya Figure Players early. This means we’ve got full-length training guides available on all of these fighters! Be sure to bookmark their respective pages ahead of their release date so you’re ready to train them up properly.

In the meantime, several existing amiibo figures are being reprinted. They’ll likely release sometime in March alongside Kirby and the Forgotten Land. These include Kirby, King Dedede, Meta Knight, and Byleth. Naturally, we’ve got training guides available for them too, and we encourage you to check them out! Please note that the Kirby amiibo being reprinted are all Kirby series (blue bases) except for King Dedede, whose Smash version is being restocked.

Min Min amiibo certification updated, release date incoming

February 2022’s Nintendo Direct came and went without a single mention of amiibo. This was a bit of a surprise — as we know, Nintendo still has to release amiibo figures for every character from Fighters Pass 2. Min Min is confirmed for release, though at the time of writing there’s no release date just yet. That being said, Nintendo updated their Children’s Product Certificates yesterday – which confirms that amiibo are indeed for kids – but it also confirms that the Min Min amiibo has received its initial run of manufacturing.

According to the CPSIA, the Min Min amiibo received just one month of production during December 2021. It’s been updated alongside entries for Kirby series Kirby, Kirby series Meta Knight, Smash series King Dedede, and Smash series Byleth. It’s very likely that all four of these reprinted amiibo (plus Min Min herself) release on March 25, 2022 alongside Kirby and the Forgotten Land. If that’s the case, then it’s rather strange that the recent Nintendo Direct made no mention of it. We’ll be sure to update you when we receive more information!

Of course, we do have a preliminary training guide available for Min Min, and you can find that right here! Most of you can’t make use of this just yet, but feel free to bookmark it for later. You can also read up early to get a feel for what to expect when training this character. If you’re looking for Min Min amiibo pre-orders, join our Discord community to be notified when they go live.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land releasing on March 25

Earlier this morning, Nintendo released a brand-new trailer for the upcoming Kirby and the Forgotten Land game on Switch. In addition to its newly-revealed release date of March 25, the trailer also confirmed co-op play and new Copy Abilities (Ranger and Drill)! The full trailer shows everything you need to know and you can find the link to that right here. We’ll be releasing a few posts and guides on Kirby and the Forgotten Land in March, so be sure to check back!

The next part wasn’t advertised quite as clearly: you can also pre-order the game on Nintendo eShop starting today. As usual, payment won’t be processed until a week before the release date. When that date arrives, the game will be pre-loaded onto your console, but you’ll still need to wait for the date to change to March 25 to be able to play it.

The mystery of amiibo personalities has finally been solved

Mostly solved, at least. Thanks to a comprehensive research document published by MiDe, we now have more concrete information regarding amiibo personalities and what values they consist of. The information you’ve no doubt seen on our amiibo personality guide is still correct, but now we know even more! Some highlights are that Figure Players can be taught which taunt to use, which direction to air dodge, and more. If you want to read the full writeup, feel free to do so right here.

This information comes as the amiibo training community is somewhat slowing down. We’ve figured out so much in regard to this metagame; which characters are best, which of their moves should be prioritized, and now the actual makeup of the files that create FPs when recognized by Switch consoles. It’s great to see this knowledge come to light! If you’re looking to train an amiibo of your own, remember to check out our guides, too.
