Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – Byleth amiibo Guide

Byleth could be considered one of the most highly-anticipated Figure Players of all time — that is, at least as far as the competitive community goes! This is in part thanks to Byleth’s powerful side special, Areadbhar, which can slice through AI opponents over and over again to either rack up damage or KO. Of course, Areadbhar isn’t as strong against human foes, but Byleth has more tricks up their sleeve to make up for it. Before we begin, we’ve got more information on Byleth’s strengths and weaknesses over at their corresponding wiki page. Otherwise, let’s jump right into today’s training!

Please note that this guide refers to characters who were recently released. The information presented in this guide was obtained via early-access amiibo files in December 2020, and is subject to change when more tournament and matchup data is made available.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – Terry amiibo Guide

Dedicated amiibo trainers who have worked with Ken might be concerned for Terry — and understandably so. After all, Ken is a fellow fighting game-type character introduced in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and his AI is notorious for its incredible incompetency regarding its own moveset. Luckily, this doesn’t apply to Terry; following in the footsteps of Joker, Mr. Bogard’s AI has been blessed with an impressive knowledge of its entire kit. Terry has great potential, as he’s a heavyweight fighter with powerful combos and strong single-hit attacks. Before we continue, we’ve got even more information on Terry available over at his wiki page. Otherwise, let’s jump right into today’s training!

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – Banjo & Kazooie amiibo Guide

Fans of the Banjo-Kazooie series are in for a real treat: there’s finally some new Banjo & Kazooie merchandise, and it comes in the form of a (surprisingly well-made) amiibo figurine. Here’s some even better news, then — Banjo & Kazooie’s Figure Player is solid. Not top-tier, by any means, but solid nonetheless. It does have one particularly disappointing AI quirk – that being it can’t tell when it’s out of Wonderwing uses. Before we continue, we have even more information on Banjo & Kazooie – including their strengths, weaknesses, matchups, and tournament representation – and you can find that over at their corresponding wiki page. Otherwise, let’s jump right into today’s training!

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – King K. Rool amiibo Guide

Heavyweight fighters were typically strong contenders in Smash 4 amiibo tournaments. The burly brutes Bowser and Ganondorf ruled that metagame, and claimed championship after championship thanks to their powerful finishers and rock-solid defenses. But now, we’ve moved onto Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and the game has changed. Enter King K. Rool, a heavyweight fiend who puts Smash 4 Bowser and Ganondorf to shame. This crowned combatant breaks the mold of bulky fighters by bringing a unique set of attributes to the table, and you can read more about these on King K. Rool’s wiki page. Otherwise, let’s get right into today’s training!

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – King Dedede amiibo Guide

King Dedede has had something of a rich history within the amiibo metagame. He was high-tier in Super Smash Bros. 4, and he’s high-tier in this game, too. This is in high contrast to both games’ competitive scenes (human-versus-human), in which Dedede is considered mid-to-low tier. It’s a nice change of pace to see him as a top-tier! The king has had plenty of dedicated trainers, and though he isn’t quite king of the metagame, he’s powerful enough to rule over most fighters ranked below him on our tier list. If you’d like to learn more about King Dedede’s strengths and weaknesses, be sure to read his wiki page. Otherwise, let’s jump right into today’s training!

Special thanks to Dreamy Jay for contributing King Dedede’s training information!
